Requirements and equipment:

  • Confident swimming skills absolutely necessary. We will be on a river, and lakes. Capsize training is on the first day.
  • Previous canoeing experience is a big plus. Great if you have been in a canoe before and know how it feels like and how you feel in it.
  • This Journey should be seen as a sporty activity. A reasonable amount of fitness and strength is needed. Think loading and unloading canoes, carrying luggage and also the canoes for short stretches.
  • In this journey, we will all pitch in together, whether it’s during cooking, transporting equipment, keeping watch over the fire, collecting wood, or boiling water.
  • We will sleep outside always. Either under a tarp, the open sky, or in a tent that you bring yourself.
  • We invite you to a media- and clock-free time. We want to do without phones during these days together, even though they will be with us in our luggage for safety reasons.
  • We will send you a detailed packing list after you register. The most important items are good boots (rubber boots), a warm sleeping bag (3 seasons), and a windproof jacket/anorak.

Testimonials from previous participants:

Canoe Journey, August 2023, NorwayIt was an intense and wild but at the same time educational and inspiring experience. I am very grateful for this fantastic trip that Manuel has put together and hope that more adventurous visitors get to enjoy it in the future.

Thank you very much, Marie and Manuel, for an amazing canoe tour on the Finna River, a lively mountain river located in the midst of an impressive glacially formed trough valley in the Norwegian fjell. We thoroughly enjoyed both the exiting rapids and the relaxed picnic by the riverbank with you!

Magical spring canoe trip – floating through the Norwegian mountains. The absolut highlight was to see a mother and calve moose bathing on a sandbank!
